Whimsy and Row uses only locally sourced, up-cycled and low impact materials when creating limited run batches and handcrafted products. 

Second Hand Fashion: 

Poshmark

Poshmark is an online marketplace where you can buy directly from individual people. Therefore you cannot return items, make sure you have all the info you need from the seller before buying (such as measurement, quality, ect.) Poshmark offers a lot of designer brands from Gucci, Prada, Tory Burch, and so much more. Poshmark is ideal when you are looking for a specific outfit.
One cool feature that Poshmark offers is an option to ask the seller for plastic free packaging! 

ThredUP  

ThredUP is an online consignment and thrift store. Since they ship from their warehouse, ThredUP guarantees the quality of all their products. Returns are possible if customers are not completely satisfied. ThredUP also offers designer brands from Coach, Kate Spade, Elizabeth and James and more!
ThreUP believes that thrifting is more than just finding good deals on your favorite brands, it's rejecting throwaway fashion culture and standing for sustainability. 

Rental: 

Rent the Runway is the most famous clothing rental company which has a huge inventory of dresses and celebration outfits.
Customers then choose their items from over thousands of styles and over 700 designers (a few being RIXO, Sandy Liang, Ulla Johnson, and many more). They offer one time rental, subscription with great perks or resale. 

Tulerie

Tulerie is is a consumer to consumer luxury closet sharing app. It's a community made up of like-minded women who have a passion for fashion and sustainability.
They offer designer pieces from Bottega Veneta, Christian Dior, Gucci, and Zimmermann all from the palm of your hands on their app.
Tuleries hashtag is #BuyLessBorrowMore. They believe that wardrobes should be a more circular process and clothing should not be sitting around for years not used or thrown away.

Leanne Marshall is located in New York City and creates collections that have shown at New York Fashion Week and fashion weeks around the globe every year since 2008. Her brand only produces made-to-order bridal gowns to minimize over-production and minimize waste consumption. They try to minimize the use of polyester as much as possible in favor of natural, biodegradable textiles like silk and natural fibers. They also partnered with an organization called FABSCRAP that collects all the company's scraps, trimmings, and textile waste that is then responsibly recycled. 

Scout Bridal

Scout Bridal is a powerful statement of simplicity in bridal fashion. Each of their stunning gowns are made with care right in New York City.
The moment you say “Yes” to a Scout dress, their team plants a tree and send seeded tags when you receive your dress. Brides plant their tags and are able to watch wildflowers grow, just like their love. Scout Bridal cherishes sustainability every step of the way.

 

Wear Your Love

Wear Your Love creates customized wedding dresses that emphasize the one-of-kind nature of each couple. Wear Your Love embodies effortless beauty, romance, femininity, and sustainability providing fashion alternatives that coincide with their brides values.
Their dresses are hand-made in California and are made of 30-50% organic cotton. They are 100% online and all wedding dresses are made-to-order. They donate what they have left for fabric scraps to local preschools for arts and crafts (how cute!). And they are vegan!

2nd Hand Fashion: 

Stillwhite

Stillwhite is an online platform, it’s the world’s largest wedding dress resale marketplace. It is a consumer to consumer company and you can select to shop only in the US or any other part of the world. For a small fee, all you have to do is create a Stillwhite profile, create a listing with photos and a price you chose and wait for a buyer.
Stillwhite has many great features. Buyers and sellers are able to safely chat while contact details are kept private. They are also able to meet in person so the bride is able to try on the dress before saying yes to the dress. You are also able to get a full refund if the dress does not match the photos or description. Lastly, if you change your mind or after you wear it, you are able to re-resell the same dress on Stillwhite. The options are endless when searching for resale wedding dresses. 

Nearly Newlywed 

Nearly Newlywed is an online-only listing boutique that offers a concierge for all their brides-to-be. Nearly Newlywed is a pear to pear company It is a platform where you can buy, and sell designer dressers for a more affordable dress tag.
Nearly Newlywed allows a 5 day risk free return period if the dress does not match your style. If you miss that return deadline no worries, you can return the dress minus a $50 return fee.

Dare and Dazzle has a dual mission of celebrating bold and strong women while also reducing the wedding industries carbon footprint. All you have to do is have a consultation, dazzle on your big day, and return the dress back for an eco forward cleaning process.If you are not located in the Bay area they allow a “Try On” 3 day test period before you fully commit to saying yes to the dress. All dresses are also available to be purchased. Did I mention they also have bridesmaids dresses? 

Rent my dress

Rent my dress is like any other marketplace, e.g. Airbnb or eBay, with the difference that what's being rented are items from your closet. Once your item gets booked, you’ll receive the payment confirmation plus all the booking details like shipping address, delivery date, return date. Listing items are free with a 10% service fee every time you sell or or a $50 flat fee every time you rent out. All sales are final with few accommodations for requests.
